This week the professional racing calendar started in Europe and there was a lot of action going on in Mallorca. Every year lots pf pros come to Mallorca for training during the winter mostly because this is basically cycling paradise. The roads are great, there's a huge variety of terrain being flats, rolling hills or steep long climbs, and the weather is perfect, well, all year around to be honest. So every February the action begins with the Challenge Mallorca in which there are 4 stages in the different regions of the island. Sunday they did 10 laps round a circuit in the Paseo Maritimo in Palma, Monday they had a windy ride around Campos and the Es Trenc coast, and yesterday they went up the Tramuntana in the Trofeo Deia. So a ride was organized to go and check the action. We rode up to Deia for the start and then we went in opposite directions to see the peloton flying by the top of Col de Soller before they rode down and up again to Puig Major and Lluc where the race finished.Great ride along the Tramuntana hills, great crowd cheering the race and very impressive to see the speed of the pros riding up hill.
