Multi Activity Holidays Mallorca 2015 - Part 2

As we mentioned in our previous blog post, Mallorca´s becoming one of the most popular locations for cycling holidays in the last few years. The cycling culture in the island you can see it every day out on the roads with hundreds of local cyclists out enjoying the perfect road conditions, mild winters and stunning weather of the spring and fall, diversity of terrain with a great mix of flats, rolling hills and some long and steady mountain passes perfect for training, has made Mallorca a heaven for cyclists, even a few of the Pro teams choosing Mallorca for their winter training camps.

But aside from the cycling, or actually very well hand in hand with the cycling, Mallorca offers a lot of potential for other activities and attractions to enjoy active and healthy holidays and there´re many hotels and restaurants which are catering services specifically for this type of sustainable and eco-friendly way of tourism.

We in Mills and Honey Cycling Mallorca we believe that there’s a beautiful and enriching holiday for anyone wanting to get immersed in Mallorca’s stunning landscape and rich culture, try their delicious and proud gastronomy, and enjoy all this in an active, healthy and responsible way either on a bike, walk, sailing, yoga retreats, horse riding… or even Roller skiing (whatever that is :-o )… so we want to offer our guests different type of holidays where they can mix up their passions and explore and experience this stunning land in an authentic and unique way.

Hiking

There’s endless choices when it comes to walking in Mallorca with the Sierra Tramuntana mountain range being the obvious attraction. Al along the West of Mallorca, this mountain range offers many trails that link summits, valleys and stunning little villages like Esporles, Deia, Valldemossa, Soller and Fornalutx, or the Lluc Monastery, and even the possibility of staying in one of the many refuges tucked right in the Pyrenees-like Mountains.

But not only in the Tramuntana is where all the hiking in Mallorca is. In the South West coast around S’estanyol, Sa Rapita, Es Trenc, and even further East towards Cap Ses Salines, there’re beautiful trails that take you to stunning turquoise little bays and beaches, and offer stunning views of the coast and cliffs, and also the Cabrera Island in the South-eastern tip of Mallorca. And on the North Eastern tip of Mallorca, don’t underestimate the beauty of Cap Ferrutx near Arta and Capdepera and the stunning beaches of the area like Cala Torta and Cala Mesquida.

And of course a nice hike can be maybe the right activity to spend a day off the saddle after a few days into your cycling holidays. We can organise expert hiking guides all around the island that can take you all over to find the best little corners and views where it’s hard to get on the road bikes.

Sailing

Stunning mountains, cliffs, beaches and secluded “calas”, warm crystal clear waters and warm Mediterranean weather it all makes Mallorca the perfect location for a sailing Holiday. Be it by the dramatic Tramuntana range, or around the beautiful beaches of the South or up North near Pollensa, sailing in Mallorca offer great diversity and a lot of possibilities for great and safe anchorages whenever the weather turns from any direction.

Now imagine jumping off your boat and grab a bicycle so you can go for a loop and also enjoy Mallorca by land and get back to your sailing boat for a quick swim or maybe a sail down to the next anchorage. We’re working with Fanautic on putting together some exciting new plans for next year trying to make a sailing and cycling tour of Mallorca… stay tuned for this one.

Or why not go enjoy a couple of days of sailing in Ibiza before coming over for some cycling in Mallorca? Our friend little Maira with has a fun sailing catamaran, the Ibiza Chrome, and she does some very fun and active sailing day trips from Ibiza to Formentera, and even some sailing school during the off season.

Yoga Retreats

Yoga is becoming more and more popular in the Western Society lately, luckily ;-) , and with it there’s and increasing number of offers when it come to Yoga retreats, workshops, detox programs, etc. Mallorca’s becoming a very popular destination for Yoga retreats and workshops with many well known teachers coming to the island to offer workshops in well known studios in Palma like Earth Yoga, and some of stunning properties in the skirts of the Tramuntana range or along the coast with overwhelming views of the Med, being offered specifically as Yoga retreats villas.

We believe that Yoga and cycling can very well mix together so we’re starting offering some Yoga and Cycling Winter breaks starting in January 2015 with the idea of offering a chance to start the new year in an active way and maybe get on a roll training that our guests can keep through the winter and into the spring. It’s not a retreat, it’s more like a weekend of great cycling, yoga, healthy and delicious food, maybe the sneaky glasses of wine, and some good fun.

Well enough for now we think, and we didn't even start with the Mountain Bking... perhaps let the horse riding and the roller skiing or Nordic blading for next time… when we actually know a little more about it ;-)

Happy days everyone!
