MALLORCA SUMMER BIKING TOUR

Mallorca in the summer, the same biking paradise just a little hotter. This 7-nights summer itinerary focus on the stunning Tramuntana mountains coast where you will be able to ride the most iconic routes on the island like Formentor Lighthouse, Sa Calobra, Coll de Soller and the amazing SouthWest coast, and have some time to relax by sea or by the pool. The rides can be a little shorter and planned to start earlier allowing for morning rides and getting back to hotels before lunch, so you can avoid the hottest and busiest parts of the day. Not the most popular cylign season on the island, but if we ride all hear long, why shouldn't you?

ITINERARY

PORT POLLENSA - 2 Nights

The coastal town of Port Pollensa is the most popular cycling hub in Mallorca and for good reason. Great location for tackling the ride to Cap Formentor Lighthouse, one of the classics of the island, great places for tapas, and many good little corners where to sip a “cafecito” after your morning ride | On DAY 1 welcome day and you can have an optional easy ride along the coast towards the old towns on Alcudia and Pollensa for a cold cañita by the square | DAY 2 will be one of the highlights of the trip with the iconic Cap de Formentor Lighthouse ride before heading to the turquoise waters of Cala Sant Vincent for a great seafood with a view. Ride: between 40-75 Km.

SELVA - 2 Nights

The lovely little village of Selva, set on the foothills of the Tramuntana, will be your home for the next two nights and the perfect setting for some memorable meals and even more memorable rides | On DAY 3 you can take an easy 25 km ride South West towards Selva and your next hotel, or you could take a little more challenging ride up to Coll de Feminia and LLuc Monastery, and then the great descent from Coll de Sa Bataia into Caimari and its ancient olive orchards | DAY 4  you have a great loop which will take you through many little charming villages like Mancor de la Vall, Biniamar, Bunyola and up to the mountain village of Orient where you take the great descent into our home town, Alaro, for a great coffee stop at Cycling Planet bike Café and back home along the same rolling terrain as the way out, or maybe have a detour for a wine tasting at lunch at the oldest winery in Mallorca, Bodega Ribas.

PORT SOLLER - 2 Nights

Port de Soller it’s a natural harbour set in a gorgeous Valley in the heart of the Tramuntana mountains range. The valley is famous for its tasty and juicy oranges, and the Soller Red Prawns, plus walking along the waterfront in the lovely harbour as the sun sets it’s just idyllic | DAY 5 it's an epic ride along the Tramuntana including a detour to the world famous, bucket least, must-do, etc etc etc Sa Calobra. If you're not here for epics, you can always take a boat ride almost to your hotel doorstep. | DAY 6 You can hike or ride. The ride, well, it will involve some climbing and include a visit to gorgeous Valldemossa,  the hike will take you along the coast (10 Km) towards Deia where we can have lunch at the colorful cala of the same name. This way you all save your legs for tomorrow’s super ride along the SW coast.

PALMA DE MALLORCA - 1 Night

The capital of the island and a great little city to finish the trip off and have a last evening in town wandering around the narrow and charming streets of the old town with its many bars and restaurants, art galleries, boutiques, and the wonderful Palma Cathedral and to finish on a high, DAY 9, will be the cherry on top of the cake, and what we think is the best ride in Mallorca along the SW coast passing the stunning coastal villages of  Deia, Banyalbufar, Estellencs, and Andratx all the way to Sant Elm, where we will meet you up for drink and transfer to Palma.
